About Me
I’m Ben. I’m a writer and editor (both words and video!) I do communications for an AmeriCorps nonprofit in Minnesota, where I also volunteer at the world’s greatest nonprofit movie theater, the Trylon, and support some local mutual aid orgs. I’m currently working on turning my master’s thesis about how American diabetics survive when they can’t afford their insulin into a book. I have an MFA in nonfiction writing from New Hampshire and a BA in film & media from Middlebury College. Before turning to writing, I worked in post production for many years, including some projects for Ken Burns, Killer Films, HGTV, and a few others.
I spend most of my time reading, worrying, playing competitive pub trivia, and coming up with new excuses to drive across the country. Always happy to talk: savardb[at]gmail
