Writing

I have been writing nonfiction for as long as I can remember. Essays, journals, op-eds in the local paper: writing about my life and the world around me has been the primary way I stay grounded as an artist and remain engaged with the issues that matter most to me. In 2020, I left my job as film and video editor to pursue an MFA in creative nonfiction, which I completed in December, 2023.
For my thesis I have been researching how American diabetics attempt to survive when they cannot afford their insulin. Some of the articles I have published recently are based on that research, which I am working on turning into a book once I complete my degree. Beyond the policy-related work, I love writing on film, music, and literature. Below you can find some of the work I have had published in recent years.
